I have tried to save some of my own “created symbols” in the symbol library but I find them cumbersome when I want to change their size in later drawings. This publication explains how to identify potential problem areas and design and maintain resilient power systems that are largely immune to both supply and installation problems. You can break the dependancy temporarly to modify individual components them re-group them when finished with the edit. One feature I really like is the ability to group components together so when you relocate the “assembly” to a different place on the drawing (or to another layer or project file) all of the components stay in the same relationship to each other as they were originally drawn. I like that I can copy items I created from different layer within the same project file, or even from one project file to a different project file, reusing common components. I have completed quite a few projects with this program and have become considerably more efficient at drawing my own versions of simple relays, connector housings, motors, even primitive, but effective, sketches of mechanical projects. Looking at diagrams from people that actually are electronic savvy, mine are very primitive, but the symbol choices in the library did not help me much with my particular projects. Install ElectricDesign on your Mac using the same steps for Windows OS above.
